Birthday Fun

So, this past Saturday was Emily's first birthday. Everything went really well and she got not just one but two birthday cakes! We ended up going to both grandparents house to celebrate and she got a little bit of cake at both. Everyone had fun and Emily had a blast! Her stand out toys were a big blue rocker in the shape of a dog and the most tricked out red wagon ever! It's got built in seats, seatbelts and cup holders in it. She likes them both a lot and she, also, is getting good use out of all the clothes she got for her birthday. As you can tell from the pictures, she was quite the little princess all day. Ever since Rachel and I started tell people that she was pregnant, everyone has warned us that it was going to go by quickly. Finally, everybody was right about something. This first year has flown by for both of us and while there were hard times (recurring ear infections and a four day hospital visit due to RSV) we have enjoyed having her in our life more than we imagined we would. Another thing that has surprised us is how tough and happy Emily has been even through the waves of medicine and feeling sick. I hope she can keep this attitude.
